Modifying Your Bahia Tiki House

So you got your Bahia Tiki House and now you want to add your special touch to it. As they are modify and copy, you will be able to not only change the house but also rez a new copy of the original in case anything goes wrong…
 At this point, it would be good to have some basic notions of Building 101 in Second Life, so that you can have as much fun with it as you want, but also accomplish your building goals! Here are some suggestions that were useful to me when I first started :

Now, before you unlink your Bahia House, locate its Root Prim ( Main prim) by selecting it and finding the yellow outlined primitive:


This is very important as all the scripts ( doors, fans, blinds etc) will only work if they have the coordinates of the original root prim. If you change that root prim in any way, chances are no script will work properly! So make a note of which is the main prim and save that information for later.

Modify the house as you wish, using your building knowledge, and then, in the end, make sure you link everything to the original ROOT PRIM ( previously identified by you).

For Prims, Prim equivalent and land impact information, I suggest reading this great tutorial by Jenny Darkwatch, which will help you keep the land impact of the building at your place;

And don’t forget to save your modified house!

Nesta altura será interessante ter algumas noções básicas de como construir no Second Life, para que se divirta e consiga atingir os seus objectivos de construção.

Agora, antes de deslinkar a sua casa Bahia, localize o seu prim raíz ( ou prim principal) seleccionando a construção e localizando a forma com contornos amarelos:



É muito importante uma vez que todos os scripts ( portas, ventoínhas, persianas, etc) só irão funcionar se tiverem as coordenadas da sua localização em relação ao prim principal. Se alterar esse prim principal de alguma maneira ( não o ligando em último lugar) os scripts poderão não funcionar correctamente. Por isso, tome nota de qual é o prim principal na construção e guarde essa informação para mais tarde.

Modifique a casa como achar melhor, usando o seu conhecimento de construção, e depois, no final, certifique-se de que liga tudo ao PRIM PRINCIPAL original ( préviamente identificado por si)
